iPod Packaging Dissolves in Water

Posted October 26, 2012 9:54 AM

We've had a little beef with Apple recently over its hard-to-repair MacBook Pro with Retina Display, but the company has made strides in other areas that have boosted its green cred. Things like constructing data centers that will befully powered by renewable energy and patenting movement-powered gadgets. One more thing we can add to that column: this new packaging for the iPod that dissolves in water.

From the intellectually starved article: "The fully biodegradable packaging is used in the EarPod case for the new fifth-generation iPod Touch and the seventh-generation iPod Nano."

So we are considering the EarPod case, packed within the box containing the iPod Nano, and that's all... What about the outer printed carton, the varied seals, and the master shipping cartons?

If I have to watch some mindless, stupid commercial that lasts 30 seconds in order to watch some mindless minute and a half video of a package melting in the toilet, I'll pass.

Why can't we have an iPod that dissolves in water?

For that matter, why can't we have all Apple products dissolving in water? (Apart from the EarPods, surely the best thing they have ever made, and the only Apple product I would actually consider forking out the hard-earned for).
