Hemmings Motor News Blog

Hemmings Motor News has been around since 1954. We're proud of our heritage, but we're also more than the Hemmings full of classifieds that your father subscribed to. Aside from new editorial content every month in Hemmings, we have three monthly magazines: Hemmings Muscle Machines, Hemmings Classic Car and Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car.

While our editors traverse the country to find the best content for those magazines, we find other oddities related to the old-car hobby that we really had no place for - until now. With this blog, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at what we see and what we do during the course of putting out some of the finest automotive magazines you'll ever read.

According to swi66, who posted this shot to the H.A.M.B.'s Vintage shots from days gone by thread, it was taken at the University of Minnesota. Beyond that, we don't know much about the shot, except for what we can discern from the cars in it. When do you suppose it was taken? And which car would you pluck out of this parking lot to bring forward in time?

Minnesota? Anyone might think it were the car park at a Tesco Express on the outskirts of Havana.

Almost any car in the picture would be worth a small fortune -- to the right person -- today. They are all roadworthy, and most will be in pretty good shape otherwise. I would gleefully accept, as a gift, just about any auto shown.

Packard Convertible, or maybe Lincoln, or Maybe the Studebaker!

Is there a Duesenberg?
