The undersea releases of methane are poorly monitored and very difficult to detect. The chimneys of methane release are not stable and are widely dispersed. The methane can easily have been converted to CO2 as it travels upward through the ocean. Ocean currents assure the dispersal effect. There have been a slew of earthquakes under the ocean yet no knows what contribution these hydrates can have on global warming. These releases are natural and have been occurring throughout the history of the Earth. The Storrega slide occurred off the coast of Norway 8,000 years ago and it has only been recently that the chimneys of release have been detected. Yes, it is still happening after all the years have gone by. Add the many earthquakes of recent occurrence and tell us what the releases have been from these modern incidents. No one knows the answer and it is still not being monitored properly. It is just one flaw in the climate models that has yet to be resolved.

Good article that can be used to highlight a flaw in climate models.
