Your “To Don’t List”- I Hope You Have One

Every one has a To Do List. Calibrate the gages, do the safety Audit, check the grinders , prepare for performance reviews. But what about a "To Don't List?"

What else should be on your To Don't List?

I was having a great conversation with a PMPA member about the need for editing in our shops- whose job is it to decide it is time to fire(edit) unprofitable customers? for example- when they mentioned in passing that something was on their To Don't list.

I was on that new idea like a guy in the bleachers on hot dogs on $1 hot dog night.

I was on it like …

We all maintain lists- To Do Lists- on scraps of paper, special forms, our cell phones and tablets, on apps… Yes, there is an app for that… including one aptly called, Anxiety

But who among us maintains a list of what we should not be doing?

Even if an employee, a person is essentially working for themselves. We all mess up from time to time, and it's no bad thing to take that as personal reponsibility. All that matters is learning from it.

Toilet seat is a long-ago convo. Distinction needs to be made between seat and lid. Yes, ladies, for mutual respect the entire contraption should be left in a down position. Funny, but they worry more about the seat than the lid. If anybody. of either gender watched what happens when it's flushed, they would close the darn thing.

'Never too late' - a great truism of life.

'Worry about the past'. If you can change something, then do so. If It cannot be changed, then worry is of no use. Slightly Bhuddist, but it seems to me very true.

We all have our own take, but that is a GA worthy post, Tom.

'Worry about the past'. If you can change something, then do so. If It cannot be changed, then worry is of no use. Indeed, as long as it's not used as an excuse to continue doing bad things like the financial intitutions...
We mugged the public yesterday, it's in the past so no point worrying... we shall mug them again tomorrow too.
We'll shed corcomodile tears as we stuff our pockest full of bonus at the year end too.
