Engineers Prove That Boxer, 'Hitman' Hatton, Packs A Mighty Punch

Measurements taken at The University of Manchester have shown that local boxing hero Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton really does live up to his name. The Undefeated Light-Welterweight and Welterweight World Champion was recently put through his paces at the University by a team of impact engineers from the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering (MACE). Following a request from ITN Sport, who wanted to know just how hard the Hitman hits, a team led by Dr Qingming Li worked with biomechanics equipment specialists Biosense Medical Ltd to gauge the strength and speed of Hatton' s best shots.

Why? All they had to do was ask Jose Luis Castillo after Saturday night. If you hadn't heard, the hit man knocked him over with a body shot, the only time he's been downed. The problem is, it's bad enough to be hit with one punch of that force, you just know theres another one coming right behind it! Hitman

Mind you, I'm only jealous 'cos Id like to do it........
