Great...more big brother watching. I realize they are just trying to protect the public and that anything that I do in the public is not covered by privacy rights but come on!

I know sooner or later, someone is going to get in trouble because one of these cameras are going to catch something and it will be broadcast out of context and it will not end well.

You may not have the expectation of privacy if you are in a public place, but you are aware of your surroundings and who is likely to see you when you decide to dance on the street and kiss a woman (or man) after winning big in a casino.

Wouldn't surprise me any if the city sells the data from the cameras to businesses on the strip either.

They won't be using them to watch and listen, according to the article.

Vegas isn't going to do anything that could potentially lead to a drop in visitors.

Well, we already know they are doing that.

But according to the article, the company spokesman said that they could make those products, but they haven't been sold to Vegas.

It's probably safe to assume that you're at least being watched, in most metropolitan areas.

Mesa AZ has 5 cameras, yes 5, on every major and many not so major intersections.

One each pointed directly at traffic lanes and one 360° camera, just in case.

Some of our cops also wear body cameras that record everything. Don't even think about getting a look at anything recorded by any of them. Not going to happen. Potential evidence, you know.

Also a good propaganda tool for them to use, if they need it.

They also have license plate readers on many of their cars. Mormons are an insecure lot, you know.
