Hmmm, I'd like to see that thing in person. I am skeptical that any paint job would come out right using foam applicators and especially doing it outside in the elements.

You can get nice a paint job for cheap using spray cans IMHO. You need to shake the cans good and keep shaking them. Use about 3-4 cans at a time. Keep them all in a bucket of warm water. Every 20-25 seconds of spraying rotate the cans. The decompression cools them causing condensation in the tip and therefore splatter happens. About 70-75F with 50-60RH in the shade are the perfect conditions. If any defects occur stop wait for it to cure then sand and repaint. Otherwise 4-5 thin coats followed by a wet sand and rubbing compound will leave a finish nicer than what you'd see at the car dealership.

On the other hand, why not just take a class at your local community college on using a paint gun?

^That is absolutely possible, but as is the case with just about everything- prep is what will make it or break it. Very cool. I have color sanded a botched maaco paint job and it still didnt look as good as this guy's work.
