Posted March 16, 2014 12:00 PM by Engineering360 eNewsletter

A new global geothermal powerhouse emerges with the merger of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Japan, and Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbogenerator manufacturer Turboden of Italy. The companies can now offer binary and steam geothermal power equipment and design solutions, and will soon collaborate in the construction of a 5 MW geothermal facility for Japan. Joint venture plans call for market exploration and expansion in Germany and Turkey. Turboden's ORC technology is showcased in a video featuring two 5.6 MW projects supplying the grid in Bavaria, Germany.
