The
Buick Riviera isn't generally the first car that comes to mind when one
envisions a street rod, but perhaps that's what makes J.F. Launier's
1964 Riviera, named Rivision, so interesting. Last Sunday, this
one-of-a-kind Buick, which blends parts from two distinctly different
generations of Riviera (along with a serious amount of fabrication),
beat out the other Great 8 finalists to take home the 2014 Ridler Award,
presented at the Detroit Autorama.
The Ridler Award was one of two trophies that Launier walked away with on Sunday night. See more of this custom Buick masterpiece here.
