From Newlaunches.com:
The Shockwave has been described as an "area denial system, spraying its six projectiles all at once over a 22-degree arc. In addition, users can stack the Shockwave units vertically or side by side, something like Legos to cover a larger area or to allow for multiple salvo engagements." Unveiled at the Taser Tactical Conference in Chicago, the units have been designed for military use. The Shockwave fires XP Taser cartridges hook onto a 25-foot wire to transport its 5-second pulse of electricity.
At the Conference, Taser also revealed its wireless XREP (or extended range electronic projectile), which can be fired from a 12-gauge shotgun. Taser XREPs weigh only half an ounce and have a range of 100 feet. A battery in the projectile delivers the charge for 20 seconds. Four barbed electrodes on the front end attach to the target. On impact the chassis opens up to send six "cholla electrodes" out to penetrate the clothing as well. The initial orders will be completed by the end of this year, and a full production release will be in 2008.
