The guys who decided to make a mind-reading tool for the masses are not neuroscientists. In fact, they're artists who met at Parsons the New School for Design, in New York City. In this day and age, you don't have to be a neuroscientist to muck around with brain signals.

Looks like it would be fun to play around with.

I recall long ago a friend of mine had a "Beta Wave Detector" built from a kit. Let's just say that soldering was not his forte, so he brought it to me to get working. After a little work, I got it to operate and I still remember the spine-chill I got when it first responded to "mind control".
