Good advice, but the morning's first cup stays. Not negotiable.

I already had my cups of Joe, but I wasn't moving things out of my inbox very quickly. I thought maybe I would do better if I tried all of the alternative suggestions.

Did you know green tea has a laxative effect? Well, I needed to take a regular break anyway.

After my regular break I went out to my car and took a power nap. I figured if 26 minutes was good, 60 minutes would be even better. I forgot how hot it can get in the car and woke up drenched in sweat. Guess I need a regular break to rehydrate and cool off.

I went back into the building to cool off, but I had raised the temperature as suggested. Since this "energy efficient" building is 75-80 degrees all the time, I set the temp to 88, because 8 is my wife's favorite number. I tried to get some work done, but hearing people complain about the beneficial heat was very distracting. To get away from the noise, and because I was having trouble cooling down from my power nap, I thought I'd see if the gym's air conditioning was working.

The article said productive people work out for 2.5 hours a week. Since I was so far behind, and for some reason hadn't been able to accomplish anything yet today, I thought I'd better get the whole week's work out done by the end of the day.

I don't know how long I was on the treadmill before I passed out, but I sure needed a regular break and a power nap after that. I decided I should rehydrate with iced green tea.

I got back to my desk and realized I hadn't gotten anything done today. It must be because I hadn't had my productivity enhancing chocolate and a laugh. I didn't have any dark chocolate so I ate three milk chocolate candy bars instead. I had some more iced green tea while I looked for funny things on the internet. My usual sources didn't seem very funny, but I think that was because I was getting so irritated hearing people carp about how hot it was. What with all that green tea and chocolate, it was time for a regular break, which at least got me away from those whiners (that's "whingers" for those American English as a Second Language, or AESL, readers). The warm temperature in the toilet must have been productivity enhancing. My productivity there was quite enhanced. Maybe it was the green tea.

As I walked back to my desk I wondered if I could work in another power nap. Everyone was leaving. I realized it was quitting time. I hadn't gotten anything done today, but I sure have built up my credit in the Productivity Bank. Tomorrow, watch out! Better yet, watch out now. I am afraid I may faint on the drive home.
