You Hate Your Job But You're Scared To Quit

Posted September 09, 2014 7:37 AM

From Forbes - Tech:

You wake every morning miserable because you can't stand the thought of going to the office to do a job you hate. You moan and groan so much about the job you hate that not only are you miserable, but everyone around you is as well. You get through each day of misery only to go home to bed so you can revisit it all over again tomorrow. If you hate your job so much, then why stay? The answer is simple - change is scary. You hate your job but you're scared to quit.

Orrin Woodward, Co-Founder of the LIFE Business, and Best-Selling Author, says, "do you hate change enough to lose, or do you hate losing enough to change?"

Benjamin Franklin addressed this idea of feeling "stuck" 230+ years ago when he said, "most men die at 25 and wait till 65 to be buried."

There are options to be had and pursued. Rather than "Doing", whatever is available, then "Learning", on the job, and having that "Defining", our life and lifestyle, we should do it in the reverse direction; "Define", what we want in life, "Learn", from someone with those kind of results, and "Do", what they do. A great line from the movie "The Pursuit of Happiness" was when Will Smith asked a guy who had just driven up in a fancy sports car, "what do you do?" and "can I learn how to do that?"
