Korea Constructs "Cloud World" for Scientists

Posted December 16, 2014 6:34 PM by Engineering360 eNewsletter

A global "Cloud World" of science is about to be established in Korea. Facilitated by an award winning design, the IBS, or Institute for Basic Science Headquarters Phase I, will satisfy the need for global scientists to gather in one place to stimulate research and study. Massive, naturally ventilated, and largely green, the complex is comprised of a quad-style layout with a large central ring. The latter acts as a pedestrian passageway that accesses all major facilities. Inside the ring is an open air central plaza. Catch the feature story and a slide show here.

So, your supposed to send your scientific research to Kim Jong-un's "cloud" inbox?

It might be helpful to state whether this "Cloud World" is run by North or South Korea, which this article does not do. Differences matter.

Couldn't see the forest for the trees. Should have used "Find on this page" to begin with.

Clouds. A place where sensitive data is gathered and stored for easy hacking and theft.

Yeah, if N Korea can hack into Sony of America, what's to stop them from hacking a S Korean server? Especially since they probably already have 'sleeper agents' embedded in the project. (Best way to hack a system is to install backdoors when designing it.)
