Make Potato Plastic!

There are legions of things we can do, but only a very few of them are sensible, sustainable or economical. And that is the rub. For a prime example read some fall issue of the National Geographic Magazine devoted to ethanol fuel with a front page title sounding like: Biofuel the right way and the wrong way. The gist of it, that the congress in its infinite wisdom passed legislation requiring it, and never mind the consequences. Grains went into producing it. Now its economy is questioned, and food prices going up due less grain for that. Contrast it with the brazilian example in the same issue, where sugarcane waste is used, and results in some 8 times energy gained. That is the right way: a major waste used up - energy gained.
