What's in Your Design Toolbox

Posted July 28, 2007 8:00 AM by Steve Melito

Experienced med-tech design engineers share the contents of their metaphorical toolboxes in this European Medical Device Manufacturer essay. As essential to the design process as advanced software, their creative concepts appear basic on the surface, but are often overlooked. Plan the product design process from initial idea through device launch, focus front-end research on user needs by getting to really understand the user, aim for simplicity, add electronics and add features, keep the product design cost-effective, and let human factors engineering drive risk-managed product development. Can these philosophical precepts play a role in your device design efforts?
