Segway knock-off built by kids

Kids these days are always trying to one-up their elders. Take these young whippersnappers from Wayland High School, John D. O'Bryant School of Math and Science, and Cambridge Rindge and Latin School for example. Working with four students from MIT, the kids developed their own Segway-esque transporter for less than $1,000. If you think that's impressive, consider it took the group only three our four meetings to fully put the device together. It weighs less than 50 pounds, is able to navigate through doors and can reach a top speed of 11 miles per hour. What's next? Creating a space shuttle from breakfast cereal boxes?
