Divorce By Video Game

Joining the ranks of infidelity, irreconcilable differences and fraud as potential reasons for filing for divorce is an entirely new category that comes courtesy of a video game.

Addiction to the popular survival video game Fortnite, along with a handful of other video games, has been cited as the reason for at least 200 divorce petitions filed in the U.K. since the beginning of 2018, according to reports.

According to U.K. divorce website divorceonline.co.uk, roughly 5% of all divorce petitions handled so far this year include references to video games, with Fortnite repeatedly topping the list of games.

A statement on the website explained, "Addiction to drugs, alcohol and gambling have often been cited as reasons for relationship breakdowns but the dawn of the digital revolution has introduced new addictions... these now include online pornography, online gaming and social media, so it is no surprise to us that more and more people are having relationship problems because of our digital addictions."

That said, perhaps the answer to the problem is a Fortnite dating site where like-minded lovers of the game can meet and communicate while gaming, thereby ensuring that their fights will be about the traditional fare: who cleans up after whom and whose mother in-law is more of a monster.

Oh, dear. Another example of where people have failed to realize that marriage is a labor of love.

It seems that Fortnite hurts adults too That's why I don't play competitive online shooters and don't recommend it to anyone. I prefer something calm, with meditative gameplay, something which allows you to build and create stuff. Games like Garry's Mod or Minecraft, for example, really fit this description. Here check this garry's mod download link for yourself, I haven't heard about divorces because of building games.
