Honeywell develops 'self-healing' HDMI cables

HDMI is the new standard for connecting HD devices to each other, delivering both picture and audio in one convenient cable. The only problem is that, since HD signals are so large and full of detail, the signal can get corrupted on the way there, especially over long distances, lowering the quality of the image. Honeywell claims that they've developed a "self-healing" HDMI cable, one that can correct corrupted data automatically. It does this with LEDs built into the cable connector, acting as a quality monitor. Does it actually work? That's a good question, but if it does it should prove to be a popular accessory among those who dedicate large chunks of their income to their home theater setups.
