I agree, the 'fact' that this family of 'closely related' parents are unfortunate victims of a genetic disorder is not a hoax, genetic researchers have already isolated the gene area responsible - not uncommon among near-incest family groups throughout history.

Apparently, however, it is not an established 'fact' that they can 'only' walk on all-fours, just that a few of the siblings have done so since infancy and therefore developed the skill, even with bodies that are NOT designed for it, and have compensated. Good for them - so many in the West would have aborted them based on any blood screen that showed a genetic defect.

Notice the only ones even suggesting that this sheds any light on the 'evolution' debate are established 'psychologist' or evolution apologists. Amazing how they'll look at anything to finally establish any evidence to contradict the miles of evidence that debunks evolution. Perhaps evolutionists are the missing link?

Though I agree with you that it's hard to say if this stroy has much to do with evolution, I think your statement below is way off target:

"Amazing how they'll look at anything to finally establish any evidence to contradict the miles of evidence that debunks evolution."

There is mountains of data that support evolution. Creationist arguments against evolution either consists of a misconception of the process of evolution in general, or in how nature works in specific areas.

It is interesting how much latent DNA is still in the genes from times past.

There was a news article on the BBC almost a 9 months ago and has already been shown on the BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4782492.stm .Their condition was a disorder in the cerebellum. Unlike gorillas ands chimps, they did not curl thier fingers to walk on their knukles, but kept them uncurled and walked on thier palms, keeping full dexterity to their fingers.
