Working Through the Economic Funk

Posted March 02, 2008 7:49 AM

Business has taken a turn for the worst, and Cadalyst columnist Robert Green warns engineers to expect increased pressure to keep computer resources productive. If you can't get bold new technology implemented this year, advises Green, you can at least update and patch problems in your current CAD system. Also use the time to preview new software on at least on one workstation, giving you a headstart when resources open up again. And don't stop lobbying for hardware upgrades, such as dual and quad-core machines. What's your CAD agenda this year? Will economic conditions threaten it?

you can at least update and patch problems in your current CAD system.

be careful if you try to implement this, what tends to happen you create a monster that consists of patch works and add-ons.

before you know it, you need a rocket scientist just to manage you CAD system.
