Injection Blast from Plastics Past

Posted March 26, 2008 8:18 AM

Here's a suggestion to lure more kids' interest in plastics: Resurrect the Mold-A-Rama. A fixture of the sixties, the injection molding machine toy could mold and cool resin pellets, spit out a plastic figure, and even include a hollow center. An older Plastics.com blog posting recalls the Mold-A-Rama era and suggests places to indulge your plastic toy collecting habit.

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Plastics Fabrication, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Plastics Fabrication today.

They still have these at Zoos around the country. I have seen one at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, and even at the Louisville Zoo.

You just have to pay attention to the cool stuff.
