Tiny Pill-Sized Plasma Bulb is Brighter Than Streetlight

I wish I had read this before I swallowed that pill...

I bet that it would be hard to screw that bulb into a normal light fixture. I wonder if they are planning to make one for residential use and how much it would cost. I recently replaced most of my incandescent bulbs with the twisted looking compact fluorescents. They are supposed to be more eco friendly and last allot longer but are more costly to buy. From the looks of this small bulb one would think the cost to produce it should be fairly low.

35,000 lumen's per 250 watts is a major leap. I wonder what the salt is?

Mass produced the bulbs would cost next to nothing, to make the pucks on the other hand...

Just to throw out the idea - Growing food with artificial light in the long winters toward the poles where power is abundant but produce is costly.
