How Do You View System Integrators?

Posted May 07, 2008 8:28 AM

Our lead industry trend article talks about the role of system integrators and consultants. Do you think they play a useful role in designing today's hydraulic and motion control systems? What has been your experience with such firms? We'd like to hear your opinion.

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Hydraulics, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Hydraulics today.

Integrators are particularly useful for small companies and areas out of your competence. Of course, some are better than others and each has strengths and weaknesses.

We outsource some engineering (drudge work, mostly) and have found that you need to define what you expect very clearly and keep tabs on progress. (What a surprise!!)
