Raising a Pint to Life

Posted December 08, 2008 8:23 AM

Could beer be the answer to an extended life? Scientists from Rice University seem to think so. They've created something called BioBeer, which contains spliced genes used to modify the yeast to produce resveratrol. Resveratrol is a chemical found in red wine, long thought to protect against several age-related conditions such as diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer's. Will "BioBeer" bring happiness and long life?

So researching a chemical that is long thought to protect against several age-related conditions such as diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer's is trivial work? I raise my glass to the staff at Rice University. This is almost as good as fluoridated water. What a delivery system!

The wonder ingredient in wine is resveratrol. Dr. David Sinclair, Associate Professor of Pathology and Co-Director of the Laboratories for the Biological Mechanisms of Aging at Harvard Medical School is the leader in research into the anti-aging properties of resveratrol. The current studies performed by Dr. Sinclair and many other researchers have shown great promise for resveratrol treating
the diseases of aging. There are numerous articles that I have linked to at my website - http://resveratrol.webiage.com -
that document the findings for the potential health benefits in treating heart disease, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis,
obesity, and other diseases.
Concerning supplements containing a high quality and potency of resveratrol that is necessary to achieve the dosage levels
utilized in the lab tests, there is a new product called Vivix. Dr. Sinclair partnered with Shaklee Corporation, the number
one natural nutrition company in the U.S. (http://www.shaklee.com/index.shtml), to produce a liquid resveratrol supplement
that is 10 times stronger than resveratrol alone due to its patented formulation of polyphenols. Dr. Sinclair also serves on Shaklee's Scientific Advisory Board (http://www.shaklee.com/company_sab_dsinclair.shtml.)
Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Oz are both users and promoters of Shaklee products and Oprah has featured Roger Barnett, Chairman and
CEO of Shaklee (http://www.shaklee.com/company_lead_ceo.shtml), on her show.
So for a highly researched resveratrol supplement of exceptional quality, please visit -

Guest,

I had heartburn for the longest of time. anti-acid was not doing it, (using anti-acids thanks to television commercials).

We were vacationing with my girlfriends parents year ago last October, this subject was brought up, and my girlfriends Dad, gave a bottle of Shaklee's for this stomach ailments.

It had enzymes in it, after (2) uses, I did not have issues any more.

I past this along to my dad, and my dad told my that his physician just prescribe enzymes for his same condition with the same results.

so called alternative (natural) medications are out there, I believe the large pharmaceuticals company's are making it difficult for them.

From my experience with Shaklees, I would recommend it.

I use vinegar. A sip and, in ten seconds, the heartburn disappears. Why do they call it hyper acidity when adding an acid (vinegar) is stops the heartburn? That reminds me of the situation in which I was asking for a medicine for the "burning" in my stomach and the nurse asking me if it was heartburn...

Just what I need. All night of drinking "Biobeer" to get the ultimate 50 year hangover. I've heard that drinking beer is better than drinking red wine. After hearing that, I have been drinking beer for so long to extend my life that I can't remember what I have done with it.

BioBeer sounds like an interesting concept. I wonder how many people know that beer, in general, is great for reducing mercury contamination in your body. The actual mechanism is not understood, but the effect is very real and secretly documented at facilities that monitor mercury levels in their workers, such as fluorescent lamp plants.

Perhaps it is the increased flushing of the kidneys, but it stands to reason that beer is actually quite beneficial.
