Police May Soon Use Pain Guns That Heat Skin With Microwaves

Posted December 30, 2008 9:20 AM

From Discover Magazine | RSS:

In several years police officers may have laser or microwave guns to point at miscreants, according to the Justice Department's research and development agency. These nonlethal weapons build on knowledge gained from the Pentagon's controversial Active Denial System (ADS) - first demonstrated in public last year, which uses a 2-metre-[wide] beam of short microwaves to heat up the outer layer of a person's skin and cause pain. Like the ADS, the new portable devices will also heat the skin, but will have beams only a few centimetres across.

Where will they aim ?

Head ? Cancer, brain-waved and other problems we still don't know about waves x-ing our brain.

Legs ? miss and burn your balls, people become infertile.

I can't see this working on the UK.

Maybe a better use for such microwaves could be efficient heating. Why do humans constantly think in terms of competition which can become as bad as fighting to the death? We could all do so much better cooperating and moving forward together.

What would your reaction be to the guy walking out of your house with your TV in his arms if he told you that?

Or the guy with a gun in your face who wants your wallet or your car?

Or the guy who is about to rape your wife?

In life, in any conflict it is always the agressor who sets the rules.

Well, take action to stop injustice. But crime is no excuse to say we are animals so it is OK to accept that we will always have to live like them. We can do better.

Just know that "non lethal" is a poor substitute for "lethal" if it can still do irreparable damage or even kill. Yes, it is better than a bullet in the head, but realize that the use of these weapons is to quell protest and civil unrest. They are preparing....

In other words, as the world marches closer and closer to a one world government, money supply, and military / police, the rioting and protests will be for things that the "third world" already has been doing without for decades upon decades.

Food, water, medicine, and shelter.

The Cops are already Tazer-Happy.

In Spokane WA (a medium/small city near where I live) 2 people have died from "excited delerium" after being tazered.

Another suicidal fellow was just about talked down off a bridge when an idiot officer tazered him and over he went.

Instead of using microwaves, that can cause a myriad of problems, why not use sound. Ultrasonics can be used to temporarily stun and/or disorient an individual or crowd.

If I remember the research correctly the frequency was between 38K and 45K cycles. Far outside the human range and non-lethal.

Just a thought, Dragon

I would prefer a sticky foam that can be washed with water.

In dry conditions, these would be the solution.

When it's wet, I guess they would have to go by hand !!

I also think the sleep bullets (used on the animals) could be a solution - obviously it would have to be dosed for 2hr sleep max.

That's all good until you dose someone who's already on a drug, drunk, or allergic and they die. Anesthetics is a very precise branch of medicine. I hardly think you want to pay to train the police to use them. Additionally, I don't think they want to try to figure the proper dose to knock out the 200 lb nutcase that's coming at them with a knife. The idea's just not practical.
