Trade Show Overload?

Textile engineers and executives can choose from more than 50 conferences and trade shows to attend this year, according to events' calenders in various textile publications. These don't include scores of academic seminars and programs on various aspects of textile production and processing. Is this too many?

Personally, I dont go overboard for trade shows as I find that in the UK, most advances in technology are announced well in advance of trade shows. My manager on the other hand has had to cut back on the 40+ shows she attends. This will help to focus textile business by forcing managers to have less superfluous interesting projects based uipon what has been seen at a trade show.
