Motorola Launches Universal Remote With Find Option

Posted January 06, 2009 9:07 AM

From Newlaunches.com:

The new Motorola Rechargeable remote control and its base station are armed with RF, or radio frequency, "find" functionality. A press of a switch on the base station triggers an audible tone and flashing light on all remote controls to help lead consumers to a missing unit. It is powered by wall sockets or through the set top via USB, the high performance rechargeable remote control and base unit eliminates the need for replacing single-use batteries and keeps the remote ready for action at all times. Motorola's VIP remote can replace multiple controls for most consumer electronic devices.

Actually, I wouldn't mind a remote somehow equipped with the feature of concealing itself. A chameleon-like ability to blend in with the clutter on the coffee table or soft augers to burrow itself deeply into the couch cushions.

I'm a little weary of the spouse constantly flipping between channels.

W H A T ! You let your wife work the remote! Everybody knows that a remote is a "guy thing". What guys need is a remote that cannot access stations like H&G and Lifetime. A "mute" button that works on the bride's mouth is another option that might sell. Ed

ps I couldn't log on because if my wife saw it I'd be up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
