Preparing For a Data Onslaught

The amount of data needed to effectively manage a supply chain is growing at a rapid rate. It was not too long ago that megabytes of information were sufficient to keep things under control. But today, thanks to increasing interconnectivity and data collection at every step of supply chain, we are dealing with terabytes, and the end of this growth is nowhere in sight. Are we prepared to deal with all this data? Is all this information necessary? Are you managing it well? Are you using it wisely?

The supplys chains use of data is going to hit a limit. The fact that human must make decisions and that money is a factor in the chain. The limits will be the lack of slack time for the humans to act or react. Computer will remmove all the slack time for humans to make decision that can make or break a company.
