Lookin' for Learning in All the Right Places

One of the best ways to identify ways to improve your operations is to identify "best practices" at companies in similar industries. But that's not enough in today's tough environment, and in fact there may be general principles to learn from others in disparate fields—principles that can be applied to your own needs. What do you think? If you're in discrete manufacturing for example, can you learn from your peers at a process manufacturing site?
