Low Cost, High Benefit Opportunities

One approach to enhancing productivity is to spend big bucks on new equipment and software. Another is to take the time to identify opportunities that call for little investment but provide a big return. Have you looked at things like layout and material flow, product slotting, or training as areas where you can streamline operations and improve productivity? Have you found other promising areas?

Yes you are right. There is lot wastages in movement of materials in the plant due to faulty plant layout. Also there are many reasonably priced handling devices which if used can reduce you material handling costs. Only you need to look in the material handling in your plant or hire a consultant who can save this wasteful expenditure.
