Ford Throws a Party for the Fiesta

Posted January 12, 2009 11:13 AM by CarDomain

Ford's press fiesta at the Detroit Auto Show was interesting on several levels - the biggest being its complete lack of trucks. Next up was the announcement that the Fiesta is still coming to America, battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) will be focus-grouped this summer, and the Taurus is getting a badly needed redo. The Taurus redesign is a complete workover and well-executed.

The Fiesta is the big news out of passenger car in Dearborn — it's a great little box with a super-light clutch and a decent interior for its class. Check out the blank ignition key slot after the jump—what's up with that?

Pssst! Want a car with free gas, free insurance, and free concierge service (whatever that is) for six months? This is an interesting promotional from Ford regarding the Fiesta.

Let's hope it's better than the last Fiesta.

"Check out the blank ignition key slot after the jump—what's up with that?"

Possibly an indicator that this is a non-powered demonstration model? If it don't got a working engine in there, it won't need an ignition key...
