A computer is only as good as the software and the operator.

All it can do otherwise is add 0 and 0 together and get 1 for an answer but at least they do exactly what you tell them.

The answer is yes! There is a system available that was used by my twelve year old grandaughter. She determined the condition of a rolling element bearing in a machine. She told me the Estimated probability of failure in 90 days & 14 days, the Mean Tme To Failure, the reduced life of the bearing due to excessive imbalance and/or misalignment. She told me what my financial risk was if I continued to run and she told me that the cost of shutting it down and repairing it during a routine shutdown was less than my financial risk of failure if I continued to operate.

She did all this in about 5 minutes and knows absolutely nothing about vibration analysis. Sound impossible??? Well it's not. It is all patented, copyrighted, inexpensive and available as a handheld, tablet or for use on your own PC with Windows XP tm. You can check it out on www.bearinglifeguard.com
