As the economy re-shuffles, new trends are emerging. One is more emphasis on renewable energy. Do you see an increased demand for automation with the new emphasis on increasing renewable energy? Will this stimulate the automation industry, or just be a blip on the screen?

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Robotics Systems, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Robotics Systems today.

"Renewable energy" is a political term not a scientific or even an engineering term. Energy does not renew. Newton's law of energy conservation states "energy can not be created or destroyed it can only be changed form one form to another."

I know you may be thinking this is a bit ridicules, but if you want to spend time reading other blogs on this site you will find in depth discussions on this matter.

I also see your trying to apply this to automation, it would depend on the amount of energy you would need and if it would be cost effective to run the machinery on it. Also you would have to consider the space alternative energy methods would take up.
