Mercedes Muscle Car?

Welcome to the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot, a regular feature which aims to expand the notion of what a muscle car is, and to see if there's room in the muscle car universe for a German sedan.

This is the second Mercedes Benz ├╝ber-sedan that I have profiled in this series, and I think it was the better of the two. So, let's take a look at what happens when you take a standard, everyday German Sedan, stuff a huge engine under the hood from what is essentially a large limousine, and bring it to a performance-hungry market.

Those were sure impressive.

I worked on a dark blue convertible around 1970

of course tan top and interior.

one of the most challenging to change sparkplugs on

that I've ever seen, also one of my favorites ever

I had to road test it of course, from a good roll, it was unbeatable

God yes, these were fantastic cars. My dad had one of these when he was stationed in Frankfurt in the early 80's. I think it was a '69 or a '70 model.

I can remember riding with him on the Autobahn (at about 250kph!) Man what a smooth ride. I will never forget it. Good memories, for sure.
