Should You Consolidate All Your Technology Into One Device?

As electronics become smaller and more functional, you can do more things with fewer devices. But is putting all that technology in one device a good idea?

I think it's a wonderful idea. Right now I have a beater Verizon cell phone, an IPod, keys and a wallet that I carry with me everywhere. The iphone does an outstanding job of combining IPod + phone and with all of the widgets / 3g / WiFi it almost like having a pc in your pocket.
The problem I have with using an all in one device is battery life. I can use my Verizon phone for about 2 days before I need to charge it. That's with texting everyday and light/medium talk time. My IPod nano runs forever without needing a charge (thanks to good ol' flash memory) while my 60 gig hd based IPod is lucky to make it 8 hours. The iphones use flash memory, but still that single device gets used for many more tasks.
I know for a fact that Iphone users have an issue with the battery life on the phone, but being a ex windows mobile user it can't be any worse then what I used to deal with. If batteries for these devices improve, I'd love one ring to rule them all.
