Will the Great Recession Turn into Another Great Depression?

When Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke was asked in a recent interview whether the country is headed into a new depression, he said, "I think we've averted that risk. I think we've gotten past that." The IMF also stated that the chances of the recession sliding into another Great Depression were 'nearly nil.' However, according to a recent poll by CNN, 45% of Americans questioned think otherwise. Are we headed towards a great depression?
