Hemmings Motor News Blog

Hemmings Motor News has been around since 1954. We're proud of our heritage, but we're also more than the Hemmings full of classifieds that your father subscribed to. Aside from new editorial content every month in Hemmings, we have three monthly magazines: Hemmings Muscle Machines, Hemmings Classic Car and Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car.

While our editors traverse the country to find the best content for those magazines, we find other oddities related to the old-car hobby that we really had no place for - until now. With this blog, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at what we see and what we do during the course of putting out some of the finest automotive magazines you'll ever read.

Musclepalooza IX: The Yenko Duece

Posted June 03, 2009 12:01 AM by dstrohl

We see some unusual stuff go down the dragstrip during our Musclepalooza events - after all, it's a chance for anybody who can pass tech to test their car's abilities - and Musclepalooza IX was no exception. We saw this ratty Nova done up in Yenko Deuce livery making a few passes and knew we had to track the guy down.

He proved a bit elusive to find, but we did finally corral Bob Couse, who said it's an actual Yenko Deuce (who'd fake one like this?) and that he found it in a barn in Idaho. He also said he wants to restore it sometime soon, so we're aiming to do a full photo shoot and feature on it before then because it's just too cool in the condition it's in now. More pictures after the jump.

In the top picture of the article it shows slapper bars and a cut-short exhaust pipe. I doubt that either of those are original.. otherwise a cool find!
