Interesting list! It's kind of appropriate that Nintendo's English translation is "leave luck to heaven." I think luck trumped skill when it came to attempting to play some of those early games without cheat codes.

Also, the opening sentence of this post reminds me a great satirical article that appeared last month by the clever writers at The Onion entitled "Report: 90% Of Waking Hours Spent Staring At Glowing Rectangles."
