Energy Department to Award Auto Battery Grants

The Department of Energy on Wednesday is expected announce which U.S. companies were awarded grants to build auto battery factories. The $2 billion program, established as part of the stimulus plan, sets aside funds for auto battery manufacturing and related components, such as electric motors.

A wide spread of technologies to spread the risk. Hopefully many of the methods will pay big dividends and stimulate even stronger competition and partnerships.
