Labview Movement Control of ATS-545 ThermoStream

04/01/2015 5:33 AM

Hi,
I am using ATS-545M Thermostream for temperature testing of devices.
I am able to automate the head movement using GPIB from labview VI (Set head.vi) which is present in your latest driver.
I wanted to know whether the stand movement(up/down) which is used for fine tuning can also be controlled using GPIB from labview VI. I was not able to find VI for that in the driver.
Any information regarding this will be helpfull.

Thanks

You might download the software manual or contact the supplier....

No idea if there is a pre-made VI or if you have to build one yourself. Try contacting National Instruments directly.

It has been so long since I have used Labview, didn't the NI website have a download section for new custom VIs that weren't included with the DVD copy? Worth while checking there also.

Yes LabVIEW has third party drivers: http://www.ni.com/downloads/instrument-drivers/

They have drivers for their own products: http://www.ni.com/downloads/ni-drivers/

I have submitted drivers for obsolete equipment we still use on older product lines.

Here's the driver for the Temptronic ATS-545: http://search.ni.com/nisearch/app/main/p/bot/no/ap/tech/lang/en/pg/1/sn/ssnav:idr/q/Temptronic%20-%20ATS-545/

I'll send you the bill for my services, please include your billing address

Thanks Mike.
That driver does not have labview vi for up/down movement using stand (stand is a button which is manually used to fine tune up/down movement).I want to automate stand up/down movement through vi.
Can you make a new driver which will have this feature ?
I didn't get what do you mean by the bill service.
Please give me your email so that we can talk about this.

You are going to have to take the bull by the horns now and look up the commands that control the head and stand movement and create the code using that information.
