Load Breaker / Fault Maker Manufacturer

04/15/2015 10:30 AM

Hi all,I am looking for a load breaker / fault maker that is capable of remotely switching a 415v three phase load that draws 350 amp/phase. Does anyone know of a manufacturer in the UK that can supply a device capable of this off the shelf?

There are several provided one looks at global, not country-specific, manufacturers. Anything with a CE mark will fit the bill, being pan-European in application. Look at ABB, GE, Telemecanique, Square-D, Allen Bradley, etc. (usual disclaimer).

If these aren't enough, a Google search will bring plenty more.

A level of standardisation with the other installations at the facility would enable a reduced spares holding to prevail, together with a shorter time from maintenance to re-starting.

How about looking in the RS catalogue (usual disclaimer) for starters (pun intended)?

I'd try Crabtree, then, I'm funny that way.

New or seconhand, Mildred?

The manufacturers mentioned (along with Terasaki) will be able to supply the component you need, but in reality I'm assuming you actually want it in an enclosure?

If so you would be better going to one of the many switchboard builders in the country, unless you fancy taking responsibility for the certification of the assembly by doing it all yourself?
