SVC Capacitor Sizing Calculation

For a system, effective MVAr injected shall be 290MVAr and the harmonic current generated from EAF and LF are as follows at 33 kV:

2nd22.50 amp3rd53.09 amp
4th13.69942 amp5th31.87 amp
6th9.245665 amp7th8.699 amp
8th3.786127 amp9th4.011 amp

How I can calculate filter banks MVAr ratings and the selection of filter banks for SVC?

I wouldn't. I'd give that data to a company that supplies that equipment, and wait for their quotation!

Hi Lyn,

"Officer Crabtree" is a British Agent in a UK Situation Comedy called 'allo 'allo.

Set in occupied France during the Second World War.

He is a very funny character which you might find on You tube if you'r at all interested.
