Current Transformer Types

Dear gentlemen,,

I am asking to know the diffrence between the following current transf's

1- class P

2- class PR

3- class PX

4- class PXR

5- class TPX

6- class TPY

7- class TPZ

There are three standards which we rely on for CT information as manufacturers.

International Standard IEC60044-1 has general and testing information but not as much technical information as the following 2 standards:

International Standard IEC61869-2 published in 2012 gives pretty good explanation of the various types of CT's including the differences.

Australian Standards AS1675 1986 which is officially superseded but is still widely used also has a lot of information.

Both these standards have an annex with instructions and information on the use and testing of various types of CT.

Well worth investing in.
