Google Self Driving Cars Have Now Logged 1.7 Million Miles

05/12/2015 11:22 AM

Amazingly enough the only accidents have been human drivers running into them, which has occurred 11 times....all have been light damage and no injuries...These all seem to be related to people not paying attention, no surprise....So it seems self driving electric cars are the way of the future....at least for those causing accidents and injury...The rest of us will cling to our 8 ball gear shift knobs until they pry them from our cold dead hands...lol

Literally the first second thing that popped into my mind was "just give us a big steering wheel with lots of buttons that keep us engaged but don't do anything harmful".

Hey it works of toddlers.

You can pretend you're racing all the way there....

It looks like one of those Mickey Mouse beanie hats but it needs a propeller to make it more authentic don't you think?

Something tells me that the passengers underwear did not fare well.

...but just think, if cars didn't run into each other, they wouldn't need so much protection...they could be made very light weight...

Dad can take you there, your brother can give you a ride, your pals at school can do it as well, but you want to drive a car, that's 90% the reason you buy one, you're buying freedom (it actually is like riding a horse).

The car manufacturers don't need much to go to bankruptcy, I want to see which is the one that embarks in mass production of these ugly and dangerous toys; yes they're dangerous, I've found not dozens but hundreds of distracted drivers, but they didn't run into me because I either maneuvered out of the collision route or simply applied brakes.

I'd never buy one (even if I could afford it). Nice garage by the way.

Only if you enter a topless car wash with the windows down.

Why is it that all these future tech transport concept vehicles are so bog ugly?

Are the "designers" imagining a future where people have lost all aesthetic sense?

(the yellow car looks good)

Whether the culpability is yours or of others, makes no difference in your vulnerability to injuries.

It looks like an ugly palindrome to me.
