Oh dear!

Are we going to experience a "paradigm shift"? Or maybe a "shiftless paradox"? Or maybe it will be just a "parrot-whine"? I am so confused these days!

I'd rather celebrate it as 'Angry For No Reason' week myself.

I can relate to that better than palindromes.

AFNR Day. Even I can't work up any anger over this.

I'd like to think that everyone needs a reason to celebrate.

Hey Eagle, that came to mind as well.

May 7, 1970. I can remember being ten and seeing this on the news. My parents were both obviously shaken as they tried to explain to me what the images I was seeing meant and what had happened. My dad, a WW2 D-Day survivor was Extremely angry and left the house for a while. Mom cried.

I was never shielded from the war. It was a nightly news thing during the late 60's and early 70's. So when I first saw the footage I just assumed it was another "thing" in Viet Nam. I can still recall the shock I felt when Dad told me that had happened in Ohio on a college campus and those were US soldiers killing American college students.

May 11, 1970 an F5 tornado swept through Central Lubbock, TX to the Northeast, and really changed the entire course of this city (good came forth from this eventually). I hope it does not take another to get the city council to actually do somethings that need doing, and get off the time-eaters and money-eaters.

local newspaper article

You tube video

I don't know if a pallindrome flew over on that date, I suspect not. I remember seeing the cloud from afar in my actual home town, seeing shelf-cloud, and thinking "this cannot be good", at the tender age I was then.

Yes, there was a tremendous backlash, investigations, finger pointing, total confusion and anger....We were coming off a time of some pretty radical groups making news for some time....SDS, the Weathermen, Black Panthers, SLA...and public opinion was building against protesters going too far, too radical, too violent....the underground was in full swing, anybody cool would take you in like a brother, the Pigs were the enemy....but after this event everybody had to take a step back, the government had gone too far this time....but as it always seems to be, there was nobody to blame, a perfect example of plausible deniability...but they knew they had gone too far, and backed off after that....we still see this today....

'....we still see this today....'

Indeed.

I think there is much more that we don't see today. I suspect when there is a realization the public perceives the government has gone too far today, there is much more effort to change the perception and step into the shadows than truly step back....so although we see a similar thing today, we might not have a very good view.

It wouldn't surprise me if a comment like yours with the attached image put you on a no fly list, or some such nonsense. Don't get me wrong, it would be appalling, but not surprising given the less seen larger hand of government in the world.

No, statements as the above mention of radical groups will let the NSA know this guy is clued in, hip, ready for the next round of B.S., etc. It means he gets an express check-in. I mention Hitler too-often, Hitler shrimp, Hitler Obama, Hitler Reid, etc. I am virtually certain to have already made every no-fly list there is, just for that.

I really do love everyone equally, and promise not to harm anyone. Please let me board, etc., etc., and other endless whining.

Apparently, me too. It makes me angry that I get angry so easily! I think I saw a pallindrome fly over once, but I could hardly make it out in the clouds.

What does Rasputin have to do with Pallindrome dates? With Sequential dates??? IHNFI, SATVS, anyone know about Rasputin reportedly being alive and well?

Dear Mr.lyn,

Similar to Palindrome mirror image numbers also will be the same.

If you take the year 1961 and if you keep a mirror below this number the Image also will be the same 1961.

Next such image year will be 6009 (6009 A.D) and if you keep mirror below 6009, the image also will be the same 6009

The name for such combination of numbers - I forgot. Let me see whether CR4 Members can post the name.

In the US, yes...in many other parts of the world that do not use the mm-dd-yy format, no. In Europe today is 12515 (dd-mm-yy) instead of 51215. In some countries it would be 15512 (yy-mm-dd).

'A man, a plan, a butt tub, anal Panama', Is slightly longer.

'Go hang a salami, I'm a lasagna hog', is another good one....and don't forget;

...'God, a red nugget, a fat egg under a dog'.

Comment #8 is also of decent length.

And there in the signature line of my comments.

Weird Al Yankovic's "Bob". One of the most impressive songs I've ever heard, because it's got so many layers to the basic joke it's telling.

Don't recall where I saw this one, but it has stuck with me:

"Aim a Toyota Tatami Mat at a Toyota, Mia!"

(Of course, there was a bit of contextual setup to help the sentence make some sense: Two bored salespeople in a Toyota showroom alleviate boredom by tossing car mats through the open windows of the cars on the floor. And yes, one of them was named Mia.)

Why would someone downvote my palindrome submission?

Anyway, to follow up, I found out that the palindrome I remembered had come from a Games magazine contest. I had been an avid Games magazine reader in my past.

Interestingly even the individual letters themselves are unchanged when reflected horizontally.

(if uppercase and in an appropriate font.)

I suspect palindromes on the following subject might upset more people:

God, a red nugget, a fat egg under a dog.

Dog, no poop on God!

Dogma, I am God.

God, as a devil deified, lived as a dog.

Did you think those up all by yourself? Don't play any Beatles records backward while chanting those, or you could find yourself traveling backward in time, or something like that. (Meaning: God will pop you so hard, you will be in yesterday?)

Re: Happy Palindrome Week

Then I read the part about "the last sequential date in your mortal life", and I almost freaked out, thinking that someone out there knows what date is my last day on earth. It was really refering to 01/02/03 (as one of them), and maybe 12/13/14 as another one, but I don't think that either of those should count. Maybe this one should count: 01/23/45, but that does not appear for quite some time ahead.

At any rate, I hope everyone enjoys their "Pallindrome week". Stay off trains driven by imposters that do not pay attention to the tracks ahead, and maintain safe operating parameters.

So YOU, are the one that changed my title line? Really?

I think Charles Manson wanna be's committ more of those than any pallindrome ever thought about.

Let's figure out some first names that are pallindromes - Natan (never heard of it),

Tot - more of a nick name, no wonder he turned out to be a hater.

Bab - femme fatale'?

Bob - there's plenty of Bob's in prison, mostly angry old white men.

'Mater - not a pallindrome, but a well-known (reliable) hick from Arizona

Ohio - pretty much every one that lives there, except my friends, anyone named Ohio has got to be a bastage.

Kiki - this is just ikki -opps ikik - criminal who doesn't know whether he is coming or going.

Sassas - never followed directions his whole life - talked back to teachers constantly

Renner - no jail can hold him if he runs backward, chanting other pallindromes, and spinning a Beatles record backward.

Tat - the meanest ugliest set of prison tattoo art ever - started out as a mild-mannered shop-lifter, graduated into hard crime, and gang wiolence

Dog - everyone just calls him dog. His real name is DAWG the bounty hunter.

Zod - the bane of Superman, but not a pallindrome, what a loser.
