Please turn caps off. Its regarded offensive language or screaming.

For somebody like me how would you translate BFW? Should I assume its a boiler feed water pump?

Leak off is achieved with a leak off valve? What leak off do you need? What are your process requirements?

Did you contact the equipment manufacturer? Had a look into the manual?

You are lucky to observe a leak off and not a burst pipe.

Why is high too high?

More input needed.

Most common sources of high leak off pressure in a Boiler Feed Water (BFW) pump are abnormal system operating conditions, worn shaft seals, and/or packing material. How much fluid is being lost per hour?

I understand your all CAPS. I have often forgotten to turn off the Caps Lock after proving humanity on a previous post.

Assuming that you are talking about a Boiler Feed Pump and the leak off is from a shaft seal with no leakage along the shaft, you probably need a new inner seal.

"I understand your all CAPS. I have often forgotten to turn off the Caps Lock after proving humanity on a previous post."

But you DID notice that one does not simply 'post' to this forum. From the edit page there is only the 'Preview Comment' button, and only after going to the preview page does one find the 'Post Comment' button.

That is a nice feature, it allows us to correct spelling errors, typos, and the occasional 'left Caps Lock on' before submitting.

It is also why we are less tolerant of all caps posts than other forums, you cannot accidentally post all caps with one mouse click, you have to click TWO consecutive buttons, on different areas of the screen, to post. That gives time to proofread, and makes such things as 'All Caps' appear as deliberate acts in our eyes.

Sounds interesting. How are you observing this 6 Bar leak off?

If 6 Bar leaks off what's left to charge the boiler? What's this boiler's nominal operating pressure?

Sir: Please also, let me remind that we have no need to yell in here, as our offices are entirely quiet. Please turn off capital letters lock when typing, unless you wish to capitalize part number or some such as that.

Now that etiquette has been established and reminded. Play through!

That is an exceptionally high leak-off rate. What were the conditions under which this was observed? Hydro-static testing? Full operation? If under full operation, is it just that the pump is internally by-passing and not functional as to development of design pressure? Where precisely on the pump curve is this information being deduced? If at full load, a very slight loss internally could result in much lower pump output pressure (at full flow). If a shaft seal or oil seal is leaking, you would have more water than oil at this point (a terribly bad thing), or the pump would be spraying water/steam all over the place.

More information for the use of the eager correspondents is most assuredly necessary if you still require our assistance. Thank you in advance for observing the rules of the golf course here, and not yelling while others are putting on the green.
