but google earth has many artifacts

Maybe remnants of an artificial reef.....it's really huge....that picture is from about 60 miles altitude....

I zoomed down to the floor of the ocean and walked around....nothing to see just some variations in sand color....So what's this I found at 28°07'37.55" N 80°33'56.06"W ?

The Nazca Plains Indians got around....

Looks like where the individual strips of imagery have been 'stitched' together .

This image from further north shows wave tops, to the left, all the way to the coast. Here you can see some infiltration from the deep water patchwork into the shallow area. There are parallel lines all around this area which exhibit this 'stitching'.

The length of each leg of the right angle measured out at over 10Km so they don't appear to be man made.

I heard that the fishery service was installing nets in sandy-bottom areas and seeding them with scallops.

The nets,or fences,were to keep out the cow nosed skates,that destroyed the multimillion dollar scallop industry in NC.

The cow nosed skate population has boomed because of over-fishing for sharks,which is a main predator of the skate.

The skate migrate southward,and get to the NC coast at the prime reproductive period of the scallops,and the scallops are easy pickens for the skates.

This has cause the native scallops to almost disappear of the coast of NC.

If this is the work of the fisheries dept,it is on a large scale,but still, does not look quite right to me.

I have to agree it's some sloppy stitching software that's responsible for these image anomalies....there are many different stitching programs out there, some better than others...these might be voids that have been auto-filled...

I'm familiar with deg/min/sec and decimal degrees, but this doesn't appear to be either.

When I paste it into GE, it works, but I don't know how...

It apparently is a stitch in time to save nine scallops, that were being run over by skates. Where is a good shark when you need one?

The stitches are apparently there to prevent a rupture in the void, one of the chambers of the deep that did not collapse during the Great Noah Flood.
