Estimation Of Static Tensile Force Of Flexible Conductor

08/03/2015 11:37 PM

During short circuit force calculation we consider static tensile force 50 kg for equipment-equipment connection & 800 kg from busbar stringing. Please give me a calculation behalf of the static tensile force consideration under min. tempatature of 3 deg. Cent. and max. basic wind speed of 47 m/s.

Static and speed do not go well together. Unless you are talking semi static, but by then you already know that acceleration forces might top all your static calculations.

Maybe look for the formula with the T for temperature in there. If there is a v too you might have found what you are looking for (when its meaning is v velocity).

Hefty wind speed.

You might want to look up your references kg and force do not go together. You might be of by a factor g.

Please give me an indication of all the work that you have done so far. Telling us a vector quantity such as force with magnitude but no direction indicates that you have taken on yet another job for which you have no training, and are expecting to get free advice while you are getting paid.

Any error in your calculations will have serious consequences when those short circuit forces hit your buswork when it's 37ºF and the wind is blowing at 105mph, get real!

Do you refer on IEC 60865-1/2?

Describe the application.

It's not an overhead HT line is it? Wind loadings and static (cable weight) forces hint at this....

Confirm and communicate.
