Your question is a bit vague, but it seems you are referring to terminal strips or terminal connector blocks. Search google for "terminal strip connector" - towards the top of the 15 million results is a decent wikipedia entry that should serve as introduction.

What have you figured out for yourself so far? That will show us that you are trying, and not just giving your homework to a group of anonymous bystanders to solve for you.

Your photo is of too low resolution to clearly make out. However, it appears to be some sort of control schematic. The terminal layout suggests that it shows the external connections (top terminals) of various control contacts or switches feeding into the main body of the control scheme (bottom terminals), the way they would be laid out on terminal blocks.

However, without a better photo and some description of what the circuit is, we cannot make more than a guess.
